Frequently asked questions
What do I need to use BetOven?
BetOven installs on a computer running Windows 10 or later, with 8 GB of RAM and a connection of at least 10 Mbps. If that is not your set-up, there is a way round it:
- You have a Mac. It depends on the processor. On current Macs (Apple Silicon: M1, M2, M3…) you use Parallels or, more simply, a server. On older Intel Macs a virtual machine works too.
- You have no computer, an old one, or you would rather not leave it switched on. A server with BetOven already installed costs a few pounds a month, with no minimum term. You connect from your Mac, your phone or your tablet, and the software keeps running even when your own computer is off.
- You will be betting from outside the country your accounts are registered in. Our ProxyApp for Android keeps the connection on an IP in the right country.
Two things people underestimate. You need your own money in your own bookmaker accounts: BetOven bets with your funds, in your accounts, and the points only pay for the use of the software. And you need to set aside a session for the set-up, which we do with you over AnyDesk instead of sending you a manual and wishing you luck. One detail that saves trouble: Avast, AVG and Norton block the installation; with Windows Defender there is no problem.
How does the free trial work?
You get 7 days with the full software and every feature switched on. The starting credit for the trial is £25 in points (100 points = £1).
We do not ask for a card and the trial does not renew itself: after 7 days it ends. It also includes the Basic Course from the BetHunter Academy.
To place bets during those 7 days you need your own balance in your own bookmaker accounts. The points cover the use of the software, not your stakes.
What are points and when are they used up?
Points are how you pay for BetOven: 100 points = £1.
There is no monthly fee. The credit is used up according to how the bets that BetOven places turn out, so you only buy more once you have run out. The full conditions are in our Terms and Conditions.
Points are priced in pounds because UK bookmaker accounts are held in pounds. If you would rather use Spanish bookmaker profiles, ask support and we bill you in euros instead: the currency follows the bookmaker account, not where you live.
Do I have to sit in front of the computer?
No. It is your software running on your own computer, and you do not have to sit and watch it. You set your bookmakers, your filters and your hours once, and from then on BetOven only places the surebets and valuebets that match the rules you have set. You can stop it whenever you want.
You do not do that first set-up blind: we connect to your computer over AnyDesk and get it running with you watching.
Will the bookmakers limit my accounts?
Yes, sooner or later. It happens to anyone who bets systematically, by hand or with software: limiting an account is the only defence a bookmaker has, and BetOven cannot prevent it.
We would rather tell you now than let you find out later, because it is the thing to weigh up before you start. It is also why BetOven works across several bookmakers rather than one, and why you should treat the accounts you have as a resource that will not last for ever.
Is it any use if I have never done surebets or valuebets?
BetOven is built for people who already know what surebets and valuebets are. It automates something that existed long before it did: betting only when a price is out of line with the rest of the market. It does not predict results and it does not follow tips.
